After watching a match that could only be described as a heart attack special for all Arsenal fans, it was great to see the final outcome be a victory. After going down 2-0 in the first 10 minutes, the old JVC kit that I was so proudly wearing came right off and wrapped around my head, with looming feelings of close defeat similar to the semi final, which went down to penalty kicks, which was just too damn much.

After Santi Cazorla beautiful free kick curled and connected with the back of the onion bag, I was certain the fight was back on, from a team that clearly once again looked like the under dogs. Not the powerful ass team they are they just finished in 4th place in the Barclay’s premier league to secure their spot in UEFA Champions League football. But that comeback did stretch the nerves a little, raised the blood pressure, kept you on the edge of your seat. Hull FC definitely came to play, they were not prepared to just lay down to the gunners. They remained stoic, showing no signs of intimidation to a team that defeated them twice already in the league. Steady and disciplined they remained in that first half. But c’mon, Hull are not giants killers the outcome was already inevitable.

When Laurent Koscielny almost sacrificed his ankle in what looked initially like a horrible ankle roll, possible break, to score the equalizing goal. it was game on from then. But what followed was missed goals sloppy play and then the dagger. Now I am sure Yaya Sanogo will eventually develop into a great player and its reassuring that Arsene Wenger has faith in the lad, but when that sub was made to bring off Lukas Podolski, I was fucking Livid, all I could do was cuss at my damn Tv. I knew Wenger likes to stick to original squads in cup football, so I knew at some stage Yaya would be on the pitch, but to sub Mr Lefty thunder foot, for gangling baby deer steps Sanogo, this was not acceptable. But to his credit, he did inject new life into the match. He did have some chances to put the ball in the back of the net, but his touches often let him down, his tall frame, always seems to trap the ball under his legs.

Anyway the most Get The Fuck Outta Here moment came when Gibbs had a sitter, free open goal almost, ball made it to him somehow and he skied that ball. All it needed was some finesse placement, but he planted his defender huff right through that ball and sent it into orbit. He’s a defender I can’t really blame him for that, but you are professional athlete, a GUNNER, no other Arsenal defender spends more time in attack than possibly Bacary Sagna, so he has to practice hitting the onion bag. Have some composure, settle yourself, be the ball na na na na na na whooooooo saaaaaaaah.

Moving on another ultra scary moment came when the slowest defender ever Merte, oooooooh Per Mertesacker, you’re a beast one on one, a tower of strength to contend with, but in a foot race uhhhhh not so much, and I think everyone knows this by now. When he slipped and fell over and the break was on, then out came Łukasz Fabiański leaving the goal empty with shades of Manuel Almunia (he was great, but he’d often make questionable decisions). I just closed my eyes, cussed and then waited for the Hull crowd to roar. after a few seconds of nothing I figured they missed> As i watched the reply to see, even if at first he didn’t appear to touch the ball, Gibbs had his second goal line clearance save of the game.
Truth be told this match should have never reached extra time. This was Arsenal versus a middle to bottom table team, same league maybe but different class. As my friend and fellow devoted Arsenal fan said to me via whatsapp as I shared my anxiety with her,

Arsenal should have banged them 4-0 and defended for the rest of the game

Now I’m not sure if I shared that mindset or game plan, because one think you never want is a boring game, but I don’t believe the BPL has reached the money driving depths of the purely Sports Entertainment folly of say the NBA or NFL, when you can almost see how playoff games have the same authenticity of a WWE match. I’m not saying for sure it’s fake, but often it does look like a bunch of scripted bullshit, lots of smoke and mirrors rather than real sports.

But moving on, after a barrage of Ramsey misses, to see him with tired legs, slot home the winner, just put a stamp on an excellent season for the lad, despite the injury, I see team captain in his future.
Now this goes out to all the people who were talking shit about the Arsenal for years, shit like

breaking news London will have dust storms as Arsenal unlock trophy cabinet

Yea that is hilarious, now think about this for one min, we have not won a trophy in 9 years, but with this FA Cup victory, we tie ManU, that speaks volumes in itself, so suck on that all you Arsenal haters. This victory will no doubt motivate the players moving forward to go for more victories, with some quality signings this summer dare I say champions League next season.

Good win boys!!!
