Galaxy’s Best Dads, Campbell’s Soup Ad
Well it looks like Progreso, Healthy Choice, Top Ramen and Knor are about to start out selling Campbell’s soup with the full soup season soon upon us, well at least for the folks who are completely off their morality rockers and somehow outraged by the new television commercial titled Galaxy’s Best Dads. The commercial is just so damn harmless only a true goofball could be really offended by this. I’m actually surprised more star Wars nerds are not outraged by the weak impressions of the iconic figure.
It looks as if Campbell’s soup decided to take the recent controversy with the Cheerios interracial couple debacle and found a way to mix their classic soup, Darth Vader of Star Wars and worldwide nerd fame and gay marriage all together for the perfect recipe, unfortunately it’s leaving a bad taste in the mouth of some.
So the commercial shows a man spoon-feeding his son Campbell’s “Star Wars” soup while impersonating Darth Vader growling, “I am your father.” The camera then moves to include a second man at the table who argues back, “No, no, no, I am your father.” innocent right? No nudeness, no tongue kissing in the mouth, no gay bondage, just some wholesome family time.
“This campaign holds a mirror up to the modern American family” because “people respond to brands that understand them and show life how it is, in all its glorious and joyous imperfections.”

I guess that is the politically correct and polite way to say Gay parents exist and are damn near the norm in society, build a bridge and get the f*ck over it. I can dig it! Do I have an issue with this commercial? absolutely not, I’m more pissed when trying to find Vegetable soup for a quick snack, not made with beef stock….. what the hell is the point of that?
So in a nutshell I guess this can be chalked up to yet another perceived victory for the LGBTQ community and somehow and a semi assault or mild attack on soup drinking christian values, depending on who you ask!! My only issue again Campbell’s soup stop making vegetable soup with beef stock and can you make a damn tofu soup.
