Ok personally I’m hoping this is the role that will help Micheal Ealy take Iris Elba‘s title of hardest working brotha in Hollywood. The guy is one of my favorite actors and that whole mysterious moody brother typecast he seems to keep playing is perfect for this role, but judging from the trailer, it does look like he will have to use his full arsenal of acting range in this one. I think he needs just one good movie to go full on mainstream. He may not be a beast like Don Cheadle aka the black Paul Giamatti, according to females he’s not so attractive, but he’s killing the acting game! But c’mon Ealy, the brother is talented and can go far in this acting game! First thing I had to look up when watching this trailer was the director, if this was connected to Tyler Perry, sorry I know we’re all “brothers in black solidarity”, but I will not support none of his films or dark agenda, but the director attached to this project is David M. Rosenthal.
Looking at the trailer this has definitely been done before, even recently, it does seems like violence towards women is on the increase in movies, hmmm this one is very similar to No Good Deed, The Boy Next Door, Obsessed etc. But it does seem Hollywood is severely lacking in original ideas or even old ideas rehashed with a twist. But it’s all entertainment at the end of the day. So basically the ever so deliciously fine Sanaa Lathan and Ricky aka Morris Chestnut add to the talented cast, for what looks like it a nice date movie, not first date, definitely don’t want to watch this on a first date fellas.
