Arsenal FA Cup Semifinal Win
Arsenal FA Cup Semifinal Win
This game had my beloved team as the underdogs and truth be told for almost 70mins they played as such!! I don’t understand why Arsene Wenger insist on starting Yaya Sanogo as the lone striker in such crucial matches, but luckily the gamble paid off, no thanks to him. He did try his best, but sadly this young player is no phenom dead eye goal getting striker, but maybe with time, he’ll develop into the type of striker Arsenal desperately need.
The game was so stressful to watch,
at times boring, at other times so aggravating. These collection of players seem without strong on the pitch leadership and no one seems to be willing to step up and LEAD. With the exception of Sagna ( who will probably leave this summer) and The OX, the players just seem deflated and lack hunger an true drive to succeed, playing at times like a division one of Sunday league team. Not like the true kings Arsenal needs. It was great to see the blunder done by Mertesacker, which gained Wigan a soft penalty redeemed and he showed his drive and spirit as he made amends, by celebrating that goal as if his life/contract depended on it. At the final whistle of regular time, I just thought, this would not be Arsenal’s day, it’s not a lack of faith in my team, it’s just Arsenal!! The lack luster performance in the two extra time halves and a few near misses and OX wacking the post. it was all just becoming to much. By the time the game reached penalties, I swear if a doctor had read my BP, I’d probably be on medication.
I hope this victory has done plenty to reinvigorate their drive and passion! Today’s victory was marred by Arsenal dropping to 5th place in the league, a position that means every game must result in a victory to secure that champions league spot and entice true talent to the club come summer. Being in the final of the FA Cup is great, but lets face facts, this summer players will leave and we need more quality talent in.
Anyway well done lads, let this game inspire you to go on an secure that 4th spot in the premiership and win the FA Cup!!
