Maya Angelou dies at age 86. On a personal level I recall using her poem ‘And I Still Rise’ for a college project. America and indeed the world has lost another great icon of not only Black history, but world history. She lived a great life, fought the good fight, inspired, uplifted and motivated millions. Her legacy, motivation civil rights contributions and inspiration will live on forever. Celebrate her memory, celebrate her contribution, acknowledge her leadership in the struggle, don’t selfishly mourn the lost, for when it’s your time, its your time. The gifts she gave are still here to inspire, uplift and motivate for centuries to come, Keep her in your mind thoughts and heart….. R.I.P Maya Angelou
