Arsenal vs Bayern Munich 2015

October 20th 2015 Arsenal FC set out to do what many call the impossible. The impossible task ahead of my team, defeat Bayern Munich, a team firing on all cylinders, operating like a fine tuned, well oiled machine, with a front man who can’t seem to stop scoring. To keep their Champion’s League ambitions alive, it was do or die for Arsenal and low and behold they did. Now this match would not have been so pivotal if Arsenal had got the job done against Olympiakos FC and Dinamo Zegreb, which in this fan’s opinion should have been easy work. But that’s not the Arsenal way, supporting Arsenal should come with a health warning, I am willing to bet supporters of Arsenal probably have higher blood pressure issues than any other Barclay’s Premiership team. But honestly that is why I think this team can give you such euphoric feelings, the ups and downs of this team is a life ride.

This is how I watch many Arsenal matches.

This is how I watch many Arsenal matches.

Now truth be told, I did not watch this match live, I had a shitty day, I was not about to top the day off with the live images or news of my team crashing out of Champions League in these early stages after 16 straight years of getting past this stage. I stayed away from my EPL Live app updates, shut off my ESPN alerts and if that Whatsapp message came through from a certain person, I know automatically my team lost. After no Whatapps or Facebook “snicker” message, I decided to look at the app for an update. The score 2-0 Arsenal with the victory! Feelings of immediate joy and jubilation, we’re still in the hunt. Can this be our year, can this be the year Arsenal win the Champions League, the Barclay’s Premier league and the FA Cup again? Do I dare to dream, do I dare to believe….. I know what I will do, not get carried away. The Gunners will do it one game at a time one win at a time, win of loose I will ride with Arsenal for Life. well done lads, upwards and onward.

There was plenty of protest when goal line technology was introduced, but I’m glad we have it now, given Manuel Neuer’s reputation between the sticks, that second goal would have gone down as a great save.
